In 1995, Rowe Concrete (now Rowe Materials) and Chaney Enterprises formed a partnership between two family companies that allowed the Rowe family to take advantage of more sophisticated business practices and technology, and in addition, gave them the advantage of increased financial stability. Operating together, both companies were able to participate to a higher degree in the growing Virginia construction market.

The partnership between Rowe Materials and Chaney Enterprises has been wonderful. Over the last two years, market and other conditions have been difficult and the performance of the company declined. Given all of the complexities, the Rowe family has made the decision to sell their remaining share of Rowe Materials to Chaney Enterprises. The Rowe family feels that this is in the best interest of the family, the customers and the Rowe employees.

We will continue to operate under the name Rowe Materials and all of the contact information will remain the same.

Upon consummation of the agreement, Jeff Slagle will be named General Manager of Rowe Materials. Jeff is currently the Sales Manager for Chaney Enterprises, C&D Concrete and Shore Sand & Gravel and has had a very successful 13-year career with the company. Jeff has the experience, knowledge, culture, drive, dedication, commitment and energy to ensure the long-term success of Rowe Materials.

This new relationship will extend Rowe Materials and Chaney Enterprises’ concrete market area from Ocean City, Maryland to Orange, VA for a total of 15 state of the art ready mix concrete plants.
